Leed Certification

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System(tm) encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

LA Live Hotel & Residences project is targeting the base level of LEED certification. Out of a possible 69 points, the project may meet up to 30 points (26 are required for base level and 33 are required for silver). After several months of review, the project team has identified the LEED credits to be targeted. These targets will have the following environmental impact:

  • 20% reduction in domestic water use from low-water-flow fixtures
  • 50% reduction in water use from landscape irrigation
  • 14% optimization of energy use compared to Titlle 24 energy code
  • 75% construction waste diversion from landfill
  • 10% recycled content in building materials
  • Improved indoor environmental quality from low-emitting material, daylight and views
  • Reduced vehicle miles by promoting alternative transportation and parking

In addition to these, the project seeks to maximize open space, reduce the heat-island effect, as well as measure, verify, and optimize all the energy using systems.
